Performances
As Vikram, Kamal Haasan performs strongly with an emotionally touching performance. His suppressed but savage image can be seen to make his character three dimensional as he fights between what is right and wrong and what is personal. The screen appearance of Kamal is taking part in the action scenes and in silent, thought provoking scenes. His performance is the masterpiece of suppressed passion.
The character was represented by Fahadh Faasil who was a perfect Amar, accurate, inquisitive, and coarse intelligence. His detective line provides the story with impulse and gyrations. Instability, greediness and brutality, which is the character Sandhanam, is played by Vijay Sethupathi in a frightening and memorable manner. The three form one of the strongest groups in contemporary Tamil cinema.
Direction and Screenplay
Vikram is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, in a tactic of boldness in cinematography and technical flawlessness. His style of narration is an action-oriented and character based narrative. The general film structure is improved by the emotional density and thrilling movement balance. Lokesh is a vision that does not expand to the LCU universe with any doubts or greed.
The screenplay is succinct and detailed and has several layers that can be enjoyed by keen observers. The dialogues are thematic, as well as comprehensible to the story. Intertwining of the flashbacks and parallel plots is highly accurate and there is a sense of unity between the characters and time. The world depicted in the writing is one in which any small detail results in the final payoff.
Music and Background Score
Anirudh Ravichander has provided one of the most iconic music in Vikram. The film becomes culturally colorful and rhythmic thanks to such songs as Pathala Pathala. Its music is suggestive and in line with the rebellious spirit of the film and highlights the scenes of characters. The intensity of the story is associated with the musical works.
The rear score is quite excellent and creates tension, violence, and emotional interests. Anirudh uses electronic rhythms which are bass-heavy and atmospheric to elevate action scenes. His score enhances suspense in the investigation and attenuation in the revelation. Overall, the music cannot be reconciled with the film and its identity.
Themes
Vikram talks about the concepts of justice and uprising and stands against the corruption in the institution. The film brings out the lengths a person has to go to protect his or her family and the society. The question of righteousness is also challenged in the story because it poses the question of whether violence can ever be justified in the greater good. This thematic depth brings the film down to an action thriller.
The other theme that is addressed in the story is loyalty, sacrifice and the emotional burden of individuals who are in undercover missions. It narrates the cost of leading a life of commitment to duty. The moral responsibility and organized crime struggle is the basis of the story. Lastly, Vikram points out that some of the wars are fought in the shadows yet they dictate the fate of the entire system.
Cinematography
The cinematographer of the movie is Girish Gangadharan, contributing to the dark, bloody, and gloomy atmosphere of the film. It is highly immersive in terms of shots of night scenes, city, and dirty interior. Each frame has chaos, suspense or emotional tension. The visual style supports the film and encourages violent and crude narration.
Dynamic camera work is used to shoot the sequences of action, and it makes them understandable and visually effective. Close-ups are employed to amplify psychological elements, as well as, to depict small gestures. The color palette and lighting effects are extremely realistic yet at the same time they are cinematic. Overall, the cinematography makes Vikram and visual impression more dramatic.
Conclusion

The acting of Kamal Haasan (magnetic), the ambitious direction of Lokesh Kanagaraj and a brilliant supporting cast make the movie globalized. The story can be remembered due to the multi-stratification of the plot, its cinematographic world-building. Vikram is another milestone movie in the modern Tamil cinema.
